Director of People and Talent
Note: We are looking for a candidate who can work from our Seattle office as needed, likely two to three times a week.

We want our customers spending time building the infrastructure of tomorrow, not dealing with manual and repetitive tasks involved with payments.
To support our growth, we are hiring a full-time Director of People and Talent. In this role, you will be responsible for gaining a deep understanding of our values and mission to identify and develop individuals who can help us scale. This role will play a meaningful role in hiring, developing, and the assessment of talent.
As our first People Team hire, your work will directly impact our company for years to come. You will help design, document, and implement our HR policies, procedures, and operational infrastructure.
What you’ll do:
Recruiting
- Develop proactive hiring and talent pipeline strategies to support growth, with a focus on efficiency and values alignment.
- Work with leadership to build and modify an interview process that allows Finvari to create a diverse workforce of top performers.
- Develop and execute a multi-channel strategy to identify and source top performers, and communicate with candidates as they move through the interview process and work to create a one-of-a-kind candidate experience.
Talent Management
- Work with leadership to ensure employees are able to achieve success at Finvari which will include training, performance reviews, career ladders and succession planning.
- Develop and operationalize the strategy for performance management across the company to ensure it is consistent with the Finvari culture.
- Design and manage job levels and corresponding compensation bands to ensure they are competitive and equitable.
HR & Compliance
- Ensure the organization is fully compliant with laws and regulations; proactively monitoring changes and implementing necessary policy adjustments to mitigate potential legal risks.
- Oversee human resources strategy and administration, including payroll processing and management of benefit programs.
- Act as an accessible point of contact for all employees, fostering a positive and productive work environment by addressing employee inquiries, mediating workplace issues, and actively contributing to a culture of respect and collaboration.
Learning & Development
- Enhance and oversee the complete new hire orientation and onboarding process to ensure a positive and engaging initial experience for all new employees.
- Proactively assess and identify training needs to pinpoint areas where enhanced training and development can improve employee skills, knowledge, and performance.
- Create engaging learning content, utilizing various delivery methods (e.g., in-person workshops, e-learning modules, on-the-job training), establishing clear learning objectives and assessment methods
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 10+ years of progressive HR/Talent experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- 5+ years of hands-on full-cycle recruiting experience
- HR experience at a VC-backed startup including compensation structure, benefits administration, legal and compliance issues and career development
- Proficiency with HR techstack, such as JazzHR and Gusto
- Self-starter - A strong desire to build processes from the ground up and make a huge impact on a growing team
- Experience working with and advising executive leadership
- Continually finding innovative ways to attract and retain top talent
- Able to adapt quickly to changing needs and goals and communicate these changes to the team in real-time

The salary range for this role is $160,000 - $190,000 plus equity. Where your pay would fall within that range will be based on relevant experience, knowledge, and skills.
This is a hybrid role that allows for remote work flexibility. Once a week, we get together for in-person team collaboration and a team lunch in our Seattle office.
